The opening meeting of The Centre for Mathematical Biology took place on Wednesday November 15th 2006.

Aim

The Centre for Mathematical Biology aims to

  • Promote the application of modern mathematical concepts and techniques to biological problems.
  • Promote the benefits to biological research of developing and applying mathematical models.
  • Provide support for the development of mathematical biology within the College of Sciences and the University.
  • Promote the use of mathematical techniques within the life sciences in New Zealand and internationally.
  • Encourage students to undertake postgraduate study in mathematical biology.
